CMC is Temporarily CLOSED to the public until further notice.
Private rentals for groups of 10 or less are available below.

With the recent escalation of positive COVID-19 cases in Cuyahoga County, and the Stay-At-Home Advisory issued by the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, we have made the decision to temporarily close our facility to the public until further notice.

All active Memberships will be automatically extended for the duration of the closure. Membership benefits are frozen during our temporary closure.



Private Rentals

CMC is currently offering private rentals for groups of 10 guests or less. Reservations must be made in advance through our ticketing system below. Rentals include exclusive access to 5 of the Museum's unique exhibits (Adventure City, Wonder Lab, Theater, Playlist & The Meadow) for 90 minutes. All props and surfaces will be sanitized before each reservation.

Memberships are frozen while we are closed to the public, and Membership benefits are not currently active.
Funds raised through these rentals will help support our staff and our work during this closure.

Masks are required

over the nose & mouth for all guests over the age of 2. This policy is strictly enforced.

Reopening Regulations

Visitor Requirements

  • Face masks are required for all guests over the age of 2, and must be worn over the nose and mouth during your visit.

  • Temperature checks and a brief health screen will be taken upon arrival. Guests with a fever, COVID-19 symptoms, or recent exposure to a possible infected person ​will be asked to visit another time. Tickets will be fully refunded for​these guests.

  • Reservations are required.

  • Wash hands regularly for at least 20 seconds, and utilize our hand sanitizer and wipe stations.

Museum Clean & Safe Protocol

  • CMC will be limiting attendance to allow for social distancing.

  • Cleaning and disinfecting measures have been increased. All exhibit areas will be deep cleaned daily. We will also close off sections of exhibits throughout the day for a brief rest period so that we can clean, disinfect, and exchange props. Commonly touched surfaces such as the elevator, hand rails, and door knobs will be disinfected throughout the day. CMC has also contracted JanPro to treat the entire museum with EnviroShield for an added layer of safety.

  • All CMC staff will be required to wear face masks, and health screens and temperature checks will be conducted daily.

Discounts

Museum For All: 

Museum for All is currently paused while we are closed to the public. Private rentals through Museum for all are offered Wednesdays from 1-2:30pm, and must be reserved in advance at our ticketing page above.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn through play at the CMC. Through the “Museum For All” program, families receiving government assistance can visit the museum anytime during normal operating hours for a reduced rate of $2 per person for a group of up to 4 people. To receive reduced admission to the museum, please bring an ID as well as proof of state of Ohio government assistance such as an EBT or WIC card along when you visit the museum. The name on the ID and benefits card must match. **Not valid for school groups. 

The Museum for All coupon code for our online ticketing is M4A . This code must be entered at the time of purchase to receive the discount - it cannot be applied after. Proof of government assistance such as an EBT card must be shown upon arrival for verification. 

Dads Count Free Admission:

Dads Count is currently paused while we are closed to the public. 
Through the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative, fathers residing in Cuyahoga County and their families can receive FREE admission to the Museum any time that there are available admission spaces!

Pre-registration is still required so that we can limit attendance and allow for social distancing. At checkout, enter the coupon code DADS. This code must be entered at the time of purchase to receive the discount - it cannot be applied after. Per the program guidelines, a father or father figure must be present during the visit to receive free admission through this program. Proof of Cuyahoga County residency must be provided upon entry to the Museum. 

If you do not meet these eligibility requirements for free entry through this program, you will be charged the price of admission for your party upon entry to the Museum.

Military Discount:

Military Discounts are currently paused while we are closed to the public.
Families with an active military ID receive $2 off admission per immediate family member.

The military discount coupon code for our online ticketing is MILITARY . This code must be entered at the time of purchase to receive the discount - it cannot be applied after. Military ID must be shown upon arrival for verification. 



Accommodations

For the safety of our visitors and staff, and consistent with CDC guidance, The Children's Museum of Cleveland is enforcing the safety policy of mutual wearing of masks that cover the nose and mouth for all staff and guests over the age of 2 during our standard operating hours. 

The Museum understands that some adults and children either cannot tolerate wearing a mask or should not wear a mask for medical reasons. With guidance from the agency responsible for enforcing the ADA, local health experts, and Sensory & Autism professionals, CMC is offering the following reasonable accommodations for guests who cannot visit the Museum due to the mask policy.

Reasonable Accommodations

  • Virtual Programs: CMC has over 100 virtual programs available on our website. View our full collection of programs and educational extensions here.

  • Take-Away Activity Kits:  CMC staff have created activity kits that can be picked up at the Museum free of charge so that you can learn through play at home! Kits include materials for crafts & activities. To pick up your free kits, visit us during our business hours. If you enter the Museum to pick up your kits, you must be wearing a face mask that covers your nose and mouth. If you are unable to wear a face mask, please call the front desk at 216.791.7114 and a member of our staff can bring them out to you! Limit 3 kits per child per visit.

Additional Accommodations

  • Sensory Friendly Time: CMC will host separate Sensory Friendly Times. The next date will be determined once we have reopened to the public. Attendance will be limited, and sensory input will be reduced throughout the museum. CMC offers additional resources including Sensory Support Kits, a Sensory Friendly room, social narratives, and a sample visual schedule available on our website here. This time is designated for families with children with sensory sensitivities who are able to tolerate mask wearing. Masks that cover the mouth and nose will be required for all guests over the age of 2 during this time. If any member of your party is not able to tolerate a face mask or is unable to wear a face mask due to health concerns, please register for our Mask Intolerant hours.

  • Mask Intolerant Hours: CMC will host Mask Intolerant Hours. The next date will be determined once we have reopened to the publicAttendance will be limited to encourage social distancing. This time is designated for families with children who have sensory sensitivities or a health condition that does not allow them to tolerate wearing a mask. Guests in your party that can tolerate mask wearing are asked to wear a mask during this time. The following exhibits will be open during these hours: Adventure City, Wonder Lab, Theater, Playlist, Meadow. The following exhibits will be closed during these hours: Arts & Parts, Making Miniatures, Brick Works & Brick Works Jr. Please note that per our safety policy, the designated Mask Intolerant hours are the only time guests over the age of 2 will be permitted in the Museum without a mask. There are no exceptions to the mask policy during standard operating hours.
