Summer Story Time

At The Children’s Museum of Cleveland (CMC), we know that literacy and love of reading starts early. Child development experts recommend reading to your child 20 minutes each day.

CMC now hosts Summer Story Time every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11-11:30 a.m. A trained staff member reads 2-3 children’s books and introduces related songs and finger plays. Admission is free with paid admission to the Museum. CMC members admitted at no charge.

Check the sign at the front desk when arriving to find out the location in the Museum, as we rotate to different spaces.

According to the Literacy Cooperative, 85% of a child’s brain is developed by age 4. Human brains need social interaction to grow, and it’s the quantity of words and the quality of words that builds a child’s strong brain. Children need to hear the words through human interaction, not recorded words. Even newborn babies benefit by listening as speech develops.

Join us for this fun time with CMC staff, build new friendships and share valuable time with your child each week. We look forward to seeing you!
